Peanut Butter & Banana Doggie Ice Cream Cups

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I like to spoil my pup! I’m always looking at the gourmet treats in the stores. Since my husband and I have started our budget plan last month, we’re really trying to be good with our spending. I’ve started making my own treats for Roscoe (check out THIS recipe and THIS one!) and he loves them just as much as all those expensive ones (duh-he’s a dog)! These pb & banana ice cream cups are super gourmet, BUT without the cost. All you need are 3 inexpensive ingredients!

I  used his food for a little extra crunch within the layers of pb & banana, which of course is something I already had in the house. You could very well make your own treats, or leave them out entirely. I say to use unsalted peanut butter, because doggies don’t need salt. It can actually be dangerous to them! I use unsalted peanut butter anyways, so that was something that was already in the house as well! 🙂 As for the bananas….I always keep frozen ones in the freezer! So for me, this doggie treat cost close to nothing 🙂peanutbutterbananapops2

Blend your banana (could be fresh or frozen–mine were frozen). I used small bathroom dixie cups (dinosaur ones to be exact 😉 ). I repeated this process twice before it was filled to the top, at which I added a sliced banana, some more pieces of food, and drizzled some extra peanut butter over. *Make sure to stick it in the freezer until completely frozen through!* Simply peel the paper away when ready to serve.peanutbutterbananapops1

I used a few (maybe 3 or 4) bananas, and got 5 dixie cups. I’ll only give these to him occasionally, so they’ll last me a long time! 🙂peanutbutterbananapops3

The results: puppy approved!!peanutbutterbananapops4
