Occasionally Okay, even that’s and understatement — I go jogging. If my husband’s not home, and I have to lock the door, I bring my house key with me (or my car key by accident, but that’s another story lol) and possibly some money. The only thing is, I get nervous putting them in my pocket and having them fall out. I had bought this wrist wallet online awhile ago, but it was so big on my freaky thin wrists, and I didn’t feel like taking it all apart and redoing it. So instead I made one from scratch. After a few tries, I figured it out, and made one that actually fits, and now you guys get a tutorial, so it’s a win win 🙂 The reason it took me a few times, was because things needed to be sewn in a specific order. You can’t do one thing without doing the other first. The only thing that will vary with my tutorial, is the length, obviously if your wrists are larger, or smaller (like my sister’s) than mine.
Start by measuring the wrist you’ll be wearing the “wallet” around. Mine measured 6 in, but there has to be extra to fold over, so I added an extra 4 in. Therefore, whatever your wrist measures, add an extra 4 in. I cut two pieces of fabric measuring 10in x 3in. The 3 inches will remain the same no matter how long or short the strips of fabric are. **This is a great way to use up some small scrap fabrics!**
Next, fold one side of both strips of fabric, and sew them down. I folded it about 1 1/4in. over.
Now for the velcro. For the first piece, I sewed it about an inch from one of the raw ends. To figure out where to place the second one, I placed the strips of fabric (right sides outward) around my wrist and marked with chalk where the fabric aligned with the first piece (which will be on the opposite side as you can see in the picture). **Remember, if your fabric has print on one side, you want the velcro on that side!
To finish it all up, pin and sew your pieces together (right sides together!). Don’t sew too far from the edges, as you want it to still be wide enough to fit some money, a key or whatever else in there.
Because my fabric was pretty plain, I stamped a design on it, and after ironing, it was all done! 🙂 I actually think this wrist wallet makes me want to go running or go the gym or something…….ha, if only…
**Have a project you made using one of my tutorials? Show it off! I, along with all my followers, would love to see it! 🙂 I have a page on my blog called “Your Pictures!”, located right next to the “About This Blog!” link at the top of my blog. Check it out for more information, and to see other fan pics!**
Until tomorrow!

This could be made even cuter by using a button as the enclosure, or maybe a button and velcro for extra security.
