Men’s Shirt Remodel: A Monthly Craft Challenge

If you follow me, you probably know that for the past few months, I’ve been participating in my friend Tracy’s Monthly  Challenges. This month’s challenge was to remodel a mens shirt. I decided to go with a button down…because Tracy’s husband was getting rid of one and gave it to me (thanks Mr. A!)! I loved the color, and knew I was going to turn it into a skirt! To make it into my skirt, I simply cut across from the armpits, and using the sleeves, made a band in which I strung some elastic through. I also sewed down the button down section so I wouldn’t flash anyone! 😉 I LOVE the way it came out, but when I get a chance, I’m going to use a thicker elastic, since the band is on the thick side. Join the monthly craft challenges!!! They’re so much funnnn!

I HATE taking pictures of myself. I look a little goofy in this, and was the 5th one my husband took, so I just didn’t care anymore!

**Have a project you made using one of my tutorials? Show it off! I, along with all my followers, would love to see it! 🙂 I’ve started a new page on my blog called “Your Pictures!”, located right next to the “About This Blog!” link at the top of my blog. Check it out for more information, and to see other fan pics!**

Until tomorrow!

  1. ooohhh, i might try this in black and make it a pencil skirt! would be good for summer as a shirt is more thin. thanks!

  2. also, i have a very long cardigan, i’m short so its extra long and i thought of maybe sewing down next to the buttons (like you’ve done here) and wearing it as a dress! love your ideas!

    • That would be so cute! I definitely want to see itif you try! I’m a shorty too, I should have mentioned this might not work on girls who are tall or even average, because it could be too short on them!
